UVD launches first Zoom program April 27

We detect an “age” theme this week . . . it seems like yesterday that Al Gore declared April 22 to be Earth Day and yet, here we are, 50 years (minutes?) later . . . celebrating, not in a group but alone in our homes.

Look outside, you may see a daffodil!

Speaking of the earth . . . the NH Young Dems (are elders invited?) are having a fascinating-sounding workshop on how we’ve rearranged the earth . . . which we’re hoping to do more of in the weeks coming up . . . in our gardens.

Then (we’re still on our age theme) we are discussing safety in our nursing homes and child care for our wonderful first responders’ kids.

Voter suppression has received another few blows this week with the failure of SB 3 and with Gov Sununu coming around to mail-in votes. This is huge and we are hoping that all efforts can go into registering past non-voters and others who were unable . . . to drive to the polls. Yay!

Back to our present dilemma . . . if you haven’t tried that restaurant you’ve heard so much about, now is the time. Check out the list of restaurants making an effort to keep afloat. We need to do our part, in addition to staying at home, wearing a mask NOW we need to straighten our backbones and call for take=out! It’s the LEAST we can do–for the greater good–EAT!

And finally, the UVDems are working on a Zoom meeting on April 27 at 6.30 p.m. It won’t be a potluck but watch this space for a sign-in registration for our first foray into virtual meetings. Maynard Goldman will be leading a discussion on  “Could Covid-19 Infect the November 2020 Elections?”.
