Keep New Hampshire Blue!

We don’t usually get overly lathered up about our weekly newsletters BUT this one is so packed with critical material that we are begging you to read and absorb every morsel.

Let’s begin with VETO OVERRIDE DAY. Some, if not all, of these vetoes are ridiculous and damaging. Read about just three below . . . and then register for the UVDems monthly program which will focus entirely on the vetoes by the governor. If you aren’t angry already, you are sure to be by the time our three Reps fill you in. They are working out a comprehensive hour-long program that promises to be enough to inspire everyone to work harder to elect Dan Feltes and kick Sununu out of the corner office.

Then we have the honor to be a battleground state. Let’s take that to heart. Small though we are, the occupant in the White House sees our state as a place he can flip to his advantage. Let’s work as hard as we can to disabuse him of this fantasy. It’s definitely difficult to work for the cause in this covid climate . . . but there is phone banking (contact Eleanor Patten at epatten@organizenh.org). There are signs coming. There is talking to friends, relatives, neighbors, about their plan to either vote absentee or in person. If they aren’t registered (which happens with the newly-minted 18 year olds) then help them find their town clerk to register.

And, you to the north . . . Bill Bolton has tried to unseat Guida and maybe this is his year–so make a point of supporting Bill’s BOLTON BAND NIGHT. It sounds like fun and then go out there and flip that seat!!

Visit with Annie Kuster–at least two opportunities are coming up; watch Dark Waters; and then talk, write and donate as much as you can to as many candidates as you can!

This is the most critical election of our lives. Let’s work hard to alleviate our deep disappointment of the last four years and then have a party!

Make a plan to vote on/Before September 8!

https://www.opendemocracynh.org
Please note!
the day before the primary is Labor Day
and the Post Office is closed. Plan accordingly.

You should be aware that:

  • Any mail put in a USPS blue collection mailbox no matter where it is,  even in front of the post office, will go to a sorting center, depending on your city/town, and will take an extra day or two of time.
  • Any mail put in your ZIP slot (if you have one inside the post office) or handed to the clerk will likely be hand sorted/hand cancelled and stay in town, not sent to a sorting center.

You may also:

  • Give your ballot to a person at the city/town clerk’s office. Check hours and make an appointment if necessary.
  • Bring your ballot to your polling place on election day before 5 p.m.
  • Vote in person, wearing a mask, on election day.

DO NOT DROP YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT
IN AN UNATTENDED DROP BOX.
IF YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT ENVELOPE<
DOES NOT HAVE A CODE ON IT (given to you by the clerk)
IT WILL BE INVALIDATED.

Whatever you choose, DO IT SOON!

You can still download an absentee ballot request form:
https://sos.nh.gov/media/rs0ly4xu/absentee-ballot-app-8-20-covid.pdf  and hand-deliver the application to your town clerk.  When you hand it in, consider asking for the ballot at that time to fill it out and turn it back in.  Check your town clerk’s hours below.
